Why is the Wi-Fi name missing?
iOS protects the current Wi-Fi network name behind Location permission. Netgleam uses that permission only to ask iOS for the SSID. It does not read or store your GPS location.
Open Netgleam → Settings → Network Access → Open iOS Settings, then allow Location While Using the App. Everything except the Wi-Fi name works without this permission.
Why does Netgleam not show my eSIM label, phone number, or signal bars?
Apple does not expose custom Cellular Settings labels, phone numbers, SIM type, or signal strength through public APIs. Netgleam shows the live radio and registration details iOS does provide. Tap a cellular line’s Carrier row to add the same line and carrier names you use in Settings.
Why can the network provider differ from my carrier?
The Current Network name comes from the provider associated with the public IP address on the active cellular route. It describes how the current internet traffic exits, not necessarily the company that issued the eSIM.
Why is the public IP location not exact?
Public IP location is a network estimate, not GPS. It often identifies the carrier gateway, VPN server, or a nearby city. A VPN can replace both the address and location websites see.
How much data does the speed test use?
Netgleam uses an adaptive Cloudflare speed test. Fast connections can transfer several hundred megabytes while the test finds a stable result. Avoid running it on a metered plan unless that is intentional.
Why does a diagnostic result change when my VPN is on?
A VPN changes the route, DNS behavior, public IP, and sometimes latency. Netgleam reports the path your traffic is actually using. Pause the VPN and run Diagnostics again when you want to compare the direct connection.
How do I share a useful report?
Run Diagnostics or a Speed Test, then use the Share action inside that result card. Netgleam never attaches history or detailed reports to support email automatically.
